		<description>Wow.  I don&#039;t even really see it as a competition, since Laura was a real girl at some point and Anne was entirely fictitious.

As I said on the blog, I&#039;m going to have to come down on Laura&#039;s side, but only because I have performed more embarrassing fan rituals in her name.

This is, by the way, an issue that helped inspire the book I&#039;m working on right now, The Heroine&#039;s Bookshelf (October 2010, HarperCollins).  And no, there are no good answers to a question like that.</description>
