I saw the interview this morning. She mentioned that the musical will be traveling. When are you scheduled to be in Houston, Texas or Memphis, Tennessee or Jackson, MS or New Orleans, LA

The musical is not going to non of those cities you mentioned except for Houston, Texas. You can see the dates of the remainder cities by going to their web site…www.littlehousethemusical.com/.

Melissa’s 46th birthday will be while in Houston, Texas…Sat., May 8th…I am having a surprise birthday gathering for her back stage! It’ll be a brief one…simple cup cakes and a few gifts.

Best part of this interview: looks like they may be in serious consideration for Broadway! I admit I haven’t been optimistic about this. Maybe it’s time to get excited??

I noticed that comment too, but kind of took it as Melissa being optimistic rather than any real sign that something was in the works. Seems like all the critical reviews that come in are pretty negative.

I agree, a lot of them are. But it’s doing well, whether that has to do with Melissa’s star power, the strength of the play itself, or a combination of both. It’s nice to know that she’s rallying for the Broadway run, and making a point of publicizing that that’s her goal. She’s a shrewd businesswoman when it comes to entertainment, it seems. I hope she gets what she’s aiming for.

I think it has very little to do with the strength of the play itself, a good deal to do with Melissa — but you forgot the most important asset that play has going for it: its name!! All people have to do is hear its name, and they say, “Oh, Little House on the Prairie!! I want to see that!!!” Our Laura plus Melissa Gilbert is the combination that has made ticket sales soar despite negative reviews.

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Melissa before the Little House on the Prairie play in Madison, WI on Jan 19, 2010. I gave her my design quilt piece of Laura with her doll, Charlotte. It was special to see Melissa so close. She had a very sore throat & wasn’t to talk, but she whispered that she had been in Pepin, WI. Fortunately, we could see her inspiring play that Tues night, but she wasn’t able to act on Wed or Th. eve’s. We were lucky to see her on Tues!
