Walnut Grove’s Making a Classroom Cookbook

Nicole Elzenga, Collections Manager at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum in Walnut Grove, Minnesota, tells Beyond Little House that the museum is working on another cookbook to add to their collection.  (“Tastes of Plum Creek: Volume II” was published in 2005 and is still currently available in the Walnut Grove gift store and online.)
The Walnut Grove Retail Committee is putting together a brand-new cookbook  containing recipes submitted by school classrooms who have visited the museum. The museum is asking for classes to hold recipe contests, then randomly draw one of these recipes to submit to the museum for publication. (The rest of the recipes can then be held for a class recipe book.)

Email the winning recipe, including title, ingredients, and directions, to lauramuseum@walnutgrove.org by February 25 (yes, short notice). One recipe from each school will be published in the cookbook along with the school’s name, grade and graduation year.

All those who submit recipes will be eligible for a drawing for a free cookbook, so include your name, address, and phone number as well.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact Nicole Elzenga at the museum at 859-2358.
