All Atwitter for Laurapalooza

With just a little over a week to go before LauraPalooza 2010 kicks off, we’re getting a few social media matters in order. First, if you’re on Facebook and are coming to the conference, feel free to stop by the LauraPalooza event page and let us know!

Second, we’ve designated #LIW10 as the official conference hashtag—use it to mark any Twitter post (or Facebook update) about the conference. Whether you’re at the conference or just following along online, searching on #LIW10 will be a handy way to keep track. While you can of course also use (and search on) #LauraPalooza, #LIW10 saves characters and is more mobile-friendly. (Not sure how hashtags work? Here’s a quick guide.)

We are also in the process of setting up a list of LauraPalooza attendees on Twitter, which will provide another way to follow the conference online. The list address is twitter.com/BeyondLitlHouse/laurapalooza-attendees. If you’re going to the conference and want to have your Twitter profile added to the list, you can reply or direct-message @BeyondLitlHouse on Twitter OR just leave your username in the comments of this post.  (Tip: Twitter Lists are great when you want to keep up with an event but don’t want to follow a lot of new people. Speaking of Twitter Lists, LauraPalooza attendee Helen Gunnarsson has started one for all kinds of Twitter accounts related to Laura Ingalls Wilder, including the musical production and LHOP TV show alumni. The list is at twitter.com/HelenGunnar/lauraingallswilder. Reply to Helen on Twitter if you have suggestions for others who should be on the list.
