Ingalls Homestead Outside of Windom, MN
If you take Interstate 90 to Walnut Grove, you have the choice of two main roads to take from I-90 up to Highway 14 – Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Highway. If you take state Highway 71, you will go by a sign that might catch you by surprise. It’s located in the last straightway before you come into Windom and informs you that you are looking at land homesteaded by Charles and Caroline Ingalls and the sign is 100 correct. It was homesteaded by Charles and Caroline Ingalls, just not OUR Charles and Caroline Ingalls. This is a completely different set, so don’t think you’ve found a lost Ingalls/Wilder site.

My goodness…I’ve never been that way. I wonder if there really were another set of C & C Ingalls?! Did you look for a deed? Land patent?
I’ve never came across another set before…but I have for just a Charles.
Ummm!
