Lodging

Registrants can stay either on campus or off campus.

On-Campus SOLD OUT
Dormitory suites in the brand new, centrally located Julia A. Sears Residence Hall (two bedrooms, four beds, one bathroom) are available for $110/pp for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights. This includes all meals. UPDATE: Singles will be available for $175 per person; you’d still share a bathroom with the person next door. Families may stay together. If you have a spouse or child who is interested in staying with you, but NOT attending the conference, he/she may register separately as HOUSING ONLY. Please make a note of that on the registration form.

If you’ve gotten your roommates together to share your suite (four per suite, including four beds and one bathroom with sinks in each room), try to send your registration forms together. There will also be space on the registration form for you to add the names of your roommates. This will help us ensure everyone’s requests are met.

Off-Campus
The AmericInn is about two blocks from campus, and three from the union, where most events will be held. Rates are $79.99 for Wednesday and Thursday nights, and $99.99 for Friday night. The Microtel is about five miles from the site; it’s cheaper, though. Both hotels come with breakfast. The Microtel rates are $50, $55, and $60 for singles, doubles, and suites respectively.

Will we get confirmation on our lodging @ the dorm?? Thank you!

  2. Amy Lauters

Yes, but I ask for your patience. It’s mostly just me in my office, and I got flooded when registration opened. Expect confirmation letters by snail mail. (Sharon, you’re confirmed.)

The prices on the website for AmericInn are higher then listed here, do we need to say we’re with LauraPalooza to get the better prices?

    1. Rebecca Brammer

Yes, Laura, tell them you’re with our group to get the special conference rate.

Looking for hotel to stay at after play in Walnut Grove Sat. night. Looking for some place along Highway 14. Not sure I want to drive back to Mankato that night. Any suggestions?

  5. Amy

The Wilder Inn in Tracy is a good spot. Tracy is just seven miles down the road from Walnut Grove.
