Getting There

LauraPalooza 2017 is being held at the University Plaza Hotel in Springfield, Missouri.

The official start to the conference will be a reception Tuesday evening, July 11, 2017, where people can pick up their registration packets. The opening keynote will be on Wednesday morning. The agenda will continue all day Wednesday and Thursday, for half a day Friday, and then an optional tour to Mansfield is offered Friday afternoon.

If you are planning to participate in everything from beginning to end, time your travel to arrive by 5 PM Tuesday evening and plan to stay through Friday evening.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles…
Springfield was founded as a transportation hub for the railroad. Later, Route 66 ran through it. In fact, the Route 66 Visitors Center is across the street from the University Plaza Hotel (UPH). The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of restaurants.

If you plan to arrive by covered wagon or hack, we suggest you grab a copy of On the Way Home for a map. If you plan to arrive by more modern means, keep reading.
Springfield has its own airport (SGF), with flights arriving by Allegiant, American, Delta, and United. It is 10 miles from the University Plaza, which has a complimentary airport shuttle. You can get a taxi or rental car.
