American Women Exhibit at Hoover

After the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum displayed their Laura Ingalls Wilder exhibit in 1995 (read more about it here), the next time a display case was dedicated to Laura Ingalls Wilder there was as part of the American Women exhibit in 2000. (You’ll find Laura’s case at 8:41 into the video.) Look for a chair Almanzo made, a table and chair from Rocky Ridge, and the mailbox where Laura received all those fan letters. There also are a couple of pages of revised manuscript, and on the table are examples of Laura’s china and silverware. There are also Sewell editions and foreign editions of the Little House books, plus some photo enlargements. I made quite a few trips over there to admire the exhibit while it was up.
