Just a few brief announcements…
1) Congratulations to the American Printing House for the Blind Museum in Louisville, Kentucky, for maxing out the total guest list yet again for their upcoming Birthday Party for Mary, this Saturday, January 8, from ten to noon. If you wanted to go and didn’t get registered, go ahead and call to get on the waiting list (502-899-2213). Last year, they scheduled a second run that afternoon to accommodate more guests (and STILL turned hundreds away!) so you never know… This year, they’re adding an Ingalls family look-alike contest. Fun fun fun! And if you’ve not visited already, the museum does house a permanent exhibit on Mary Ingalls, as well.
2) Beyond Little House’s Laura Welser has written on her personal blog about the “Little House” Christmas swap she participated in, with pictures and details on what she included in her swap. Guaranteed to make your mouth water… she really went all out!! Great gift ideas for the Little House fans in your life, also!
3) This book piqued my interest today and I thought it might yours, as well – Looking Back, by Dr. Leigh Matthews, examines the memoirs of (Canadian) prairie women to help us learn more about the true homesteading experience.
